The most important information about participation

ORAL SESSION

The plenary sessions of the conference include invited presentations as well as oral presentations by participants. The presentation schedule is included in the official conference program. The following time frames are planned for the presentations:
Invited presentations: 20-25 minutes for the talk and 5-10 minutes for discussion –
30 minutes in total. 
Regular oral presentations: 10-12 minutes for the talk and 3-5 minutes for discussion – 15 minutes in total.

POSTER SESSION ORGANIZATION

Poster presentations should be prepared in maximum size 700x1000mm as well as in electronic form as a short presentation. Each author will present the main points of their work orally in front of a projection screen, in turn, within 2–3 minutes. The presentation format and number of slides are up to the author, provided the time limit is respected. After all presentations have been given to the conference audience, a discussion with the authors will take place at their posters.

young scientists competition

Traditionally, during the international MicroTherm conference, the Young Scientists Competition will take place. Members of the Scientific Committee will evaluate participants’ work. This competition aims to support a high standard of excellence in research conducted by early-career scientists. The presented works will be assessed based on scientific significance, achieved results, graphic composition, and presentation fluency. The final score will be calculated based on the evaluations provided by the Scientific Committee members attending the conference sessions.
To be eligible for the competition, the following conditions must be met:

  • The candidate is the author (or co-author) of a presentation accepted for the MicroTherm 2025 poster session;
  • The candidate is under 35 years of age. The deciding criterion is the year of birth (1990 or later; including the full year 1990);
  • The author personally presents the work during the MicroTherm 2025 poster session (either on-site or online).

The winners will be officially announced by the MicroTherm 2025 Scientific Committee during the conference. Authors of the highest-rated presentations will receive awards and distinctions.

BUSINESS SESSION

Special Business Session organised during MicroTherm 2025 conference is aimed at fostering of the cooperation between international companies from electronics, optoelectronics and material technology branch and European research groups of various Universities. This unique opportunity to establish contacts, share experiences, networking and coordination of joint research and projects submissions makes this event great chance for successful commercialization of technical scientific results.
The session, divided into two parts is chaired by Moderator. In the first part the short presentations (5 min) of each company profile, products and field of interest will be delivered by the business representatives. Afterwards the moderated panel discussion entitled “University – Business Collaboration: From Research to Real-World Impact” focuses on the problem: How to turn academic knowledge into scalable, funded solutions for industry and the public sector?
This maverick event is opened for every visitor free of charge and will be accompanied by the stands, posters and contact points of all involved business partners.
